Plot: Howard Crusoe, a middle-aged man working for a local newspaper is given the task to record the lives of sailors for an upcoming editorial. He's aware that it's a filler article to distract the public from their current strife but he goes along with it anyway. In the port of New Hardship he willingly joins a hodgepodge crew of sailors on their outdated, withered ship The Pink Chrysanthemum.
